Сomputational and Experimental Researches of Ice Pieces Impact Against a Plate-Imitator of a Blade Airfoil of an Aircraft Engine Axial Compressor

The calculation-based modeling results of the impact of ice bricks, which can be formed on the components of the engine air inlet, against the pointed edge of the plate target imitating a leading edge of the compressor blade are compared with test results of a pneumatic gun firing by ice plates. Experiments and calculations were carried out at various angles between the direction of flying ice and the plate target plane. Two models of ice "fragile" and "plastic" were used with different size of the yield point of material. Calculated destruction of fragile ice was in closer consent with that observed in experiment. Calculated damages of the plate in the form of edge bending well correspond to the damages received during experiment. The obtained results give the grounds to use a calculation-based modeling to analyze consequences of ice pieces hitting the inlet components of aviation engine.
Regression Analysis Application for Designing the Vibration Dampers

The article proposes a direct method for designing the Stockbridge dampers. The method allows determination of damper element dimensions using the arbitrary natural frequencies randomly specified by a designer. Relation between the input and output design parameters is defined by a regression equation obtained as a result of regression analysis. The mathematical model makes it possible to solve various design problems, including extreme tasks with conflicting requirements for design parameters. This method allows a selection of the optimal solution from a set of results, and at the initial stage of the analysis an identification of problems with no solutions.
About the Walking Machine Motion Stability

The article discusses some problems concerning the functional safety of statically stable multi-legged walking machines associated with the possible loss of motion stability. When a waking machine works in dangerous situations it is suggested to use a special cautious (safe) gait that will allow the machine to remain statically stable in case of its sudden loosing a support to one of the legs. It is also proposed to reconsider a general definition of the static stability margin of walking machine to have a numeric characteristic that allows not only answer the question on the static stability (instability) of a walking machine, but also obtain an adequate estimation of the machine concerning its overturning possibility.
The Study on Stress-Strain State of the Spring at High Temperature Using ABAQUS

This article presents the basic theory of helical spring, gives the stress formulas of each component in the cross section of spring, compares the analytical study with the simulation results, which are created using ABAQUS program. The research description presents a distribution and character of stress contour lines in the cross section of spring under the instantaneous load, explicates the relaxation law with time. The paper studies a relaxation phenomenon of stress. A finite element model for stress analysis is created to analyze the stress distribution of creep at high temperature. The article analyzes the change law of creep stress with time under constant load and at a fixed value of compression.
Study of Influence of Climber Motion on the Space Elevator Dynamics

This work studies dynamics of the space elevator taking into account the effect of climber mo-tion. The motion occurs in a gravitational field of the Earth. The tether is considered as a pair of inelastic inextensible bars with variable length and area of cross-sections. The climber consists of two cylinders that are connected by a strap, and a payload, that is considered as a material point. A mathematical model of the space elevator is developed. It is shown that steady lifting of the climber leads to swinging of the space elevator. A control torque providing steady lifting of the payload is obtained. An effect of the payload mass on the amplitude of the space elevator os-cillation is studied. It is shown that an increasing payload mass leads to the growing amplitude of the space elevator oscillations.

The model proposed earlier, you were not able to accurately reflect the properties of aluminium and other alloys, different anomalous behavior of the transverse coefficient of deformation. These alloys attract the attention of many scientists who provide strong evidence of the fact that internal processes include the mechanism of "self-healing " defects. The purpose of this work is to improve the dilating plastic material model. For a description of dilatancy, as the additional components of the volumetric strain and medium voltage found other equations. It is shown that in the self-organization patterns intense growth in the number of internal connections at decrease in volume strains. This explains the mentioned peculiarity and the possibility of "running neck" at high lead levels.
Analysis of Sea Ice Cover Sensitivity in Global Climate Model

The paper presents and discusses experimental results of joint calculations using a 3D atmospheric general circulation model, an upper layer ocean model, and a sea ice evolution model for arctic region. To analyze a sea ice cover evolution the calculations are performed. The paper gives maps of calculated sea ice cover distributions in the Arctic Region for different seasons. It analyzes the sea ice cover sensitivity to the basic parameters of models. These parameters define interaction between the atmosphere, ice, and ocean, namely sensible heat flux from sea ice and snow surface, heat flux from ocean to ice. The spatial and seasonal structure of changes has rather complex non-uniform character; there are great areas of opposite changes. It is connected with nonlinear behavior of feedback and interactions in model system including an atmosphere, sea ice, and ocean.

The task concerning the bend of the plates lying on the elastic basis, for a long time was of interest in engineering, mainly, in terms of calculation of base plates. Now similar researches are carried out to solve the problems of icebreaking capability of vessels. The paper spreads the mixed models of a method of final elements to solve the problems of plate bend on the elastic foundation (an ice cover). The task is solved by means of the mixed triangular element. The paper offers to take into the accounting a rigid support of a plate on the border. The obtained ratios considering an "increase in rigidity", allow us to reduce the number of the equations of allowing system by the number of elements on a plate contour. Using a round plate as an example the article shows a convergence of numerical solutions to analytical ones.
Influence of pores and filler articles in the binder on the composite thermal conductivity

The article offers a mathematical model of heat transfer in a composite with spherical shape inclusions. The model takes into account that filler particles and pores are available in the binder. The effective thermal conductivity of such composite has been estimated, including the use of dual variation to formulate a problem of stationary thermal conductivity in the non-uniform body. The presented results can be used to predict the thermal conductivity of the composite affected both by fine-dispersed fillers introduced in the polymeric binding structure and by arising porosity when curing the binder.
Damages and resource of locomotive wheels used under the north operating conditions

The Far North environment has extreme operation conditions characterized by the sharp changes of temperature which can reach ≥1000C on the surface of materials, depending on their reflecting power, with multiple transitions through a water freezing point. In the Far North environment such negative climatic factors cause an essential decrease in operation efficiency of technical constructions and equipment, including the railway transport. The article investigates a process of damage accumulation in material, describes an assessment technique for damage and resource of the locomotive wheel bandage that operates at low climatic temperatures. It also presents the calculation- and experiment-based technique to assess accumulation of damages and calculate resource of locomotive wheel bandage.
