Comparison of measuring methods and modeling spectra of reflection of fiber Bragg gratings
Engineering Education # 06, June 2012 DOI: 10.7463/0612.0422468 This work covers the study of basic characteristics and parameters of optical fiber Bragg gratings (FBG). The paper describes the main theoretical calculation methods of FBG spectral reflection and transmission coefficients and shows FBG reflection spectra measured in two different ways: by using a spectrum analyzer and a broadband pump source, and also by newly created units. The authors compared the theoretically calculated reflection spectra with the experimentally obtained by two different methods.

Engineering Education # 04, April 2012 The authors consider a question of metrological assurance of a measuring system model on the basis of fiber-optical Bragg gratings. The article describes of stand construction schemes for research of spectral characteristics of signals formed with fiber-optical Brag sensors and also for research of a group delay. The authors analyzed design parameters influencing metrological characteristics of the model. The results of the experimental researches of metrological characteristics with use of the developed stands are presented.
